Lachmitch Transport is a Tasmanian, family owned and operated company which has been operating in the transport business for some 10 years while Managing Director, David Abraham, has been involved in the industry for 25 years.The company specialises in the building industry with delivery of plasterboard, bricks and pavers to building sites and line haul deliveries to various locations in Tasmania and on mainland Australia.

Operating a modern fleet of vehicles consisting of B Doubles, Semi-trailers, Crane trucks and Traytrucks, Lachmitch is able to operate throughout Australia with depots in Launceston (at Rocherlea)and Melbourne (at Laverton North). Recent contracts have seen the Lachmitch trucks travelling as far afield as Brisbane, Northern Queensland and the Northern Territory, Adelaide and various locations in between with further contracts being negotiated for Perth and the north of WA.

The company has built a reputation of reliable, personal service and it is this that has seen its expansion in recent years with the hands-on approach of David being of paramount importance. The workforce consisting of drivers, offsiders and office staff are the best that can be found and this has also enhanced the company’s reputation for reliability. The addition of new trucks and trailers and the regular preventative maintenance of the entire fleet of vehicles ensures that vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum. In this way it is possible to service existing contracts as well as undertake one-off work, quite often at minimal notice. With the variety of vehicles available, it is not often that Lachmitch is unable to undertake a job even though site access may be restricted.
